The vice president and minister of industry, commerce and services, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), said on Thursday (10) that the “Bolsonaro clan” has always worked against the interest of Brazil.
Alckmin made the statement at a news conference. When asked about the rates imposed by Donald Trump on imported products in Brazil, the vice president blamed the former government.
“This clan, even out of government, continues to work against the interest of the Brazilian people. He was rather attack on democracy, and now to the economy, damaging jobs and companies. It is an action against the interest of the Brazilian people,” he says.
Earlier, the vice president met with Finance Minister Fernando Haddad to discuss a possible reaction to fees. According to Alckmin, a decree based on economic reciprocity law should be published in the coming days.

On Wednesday (9), President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) published a response to Trump on social networks and said that the tariffs would be answered based on the economic reciprocity law.
Lula also said that the judicial proceedings on the alleged coup plan is of jurisdiction “only of Brazilian justice” and, therefore, “is not subject to any kind of interference or threat that has the independence of national institutions.”
