The presenter and chef Edu Guedes51, he posted a video on YouTube explaining how he discovered the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, and how his health is.

“Nowadays, a lot of people, to gain clicks and visibility, create stories that are not real. So, I think when we tell the truth, it will always be credible, and it’s the best way to combat bad things,” Edu Guedes began.

He said that in April, he had a race in Interlagos, Sao Paulo, and spent the whole week feeling severe pain in his back. “I took medicine, anti-inflammatory, I did massage, thinking it was muscle,” he explained.

“On Friday, I went to the car and felt very bad, with pain. On Saturday, I had the classification and, before that, I went to the bathroom to pee and ended up expelling a stone in the kidney. The stone should have between 0.4 and 0.5 centimeters. I started urinating with blood that day,” said Edu.

“I went to the emergency room in Interlagos, I was attended, and the doctor said, ‘Edu, I advise you not to run, because there was a crisis, it is in a lot of pain.’ But they said that if I took something lighter and did not feel pain, it could run. If I got sick, it should stop the car,” said the host.

“On Sunday and maybe on Monday, I still urinated with blood. On Tuesday, I had improved. I thought I didn’t have to go to the doctor, because everything was okay. As I had kidney stones several times in my life, I thought: ‘Another crisis, all right.’ I didn’t go to the hospital, I did nothing.

He said that during lunch with a friend, he went to the bathroom and, upon lifting the toilet lid, practically passed out on the spot. Edu said he asked his colleague to take him to the hospital. “I asked Pedrinho to take me to the emergency room, because I was having another kidney crisis. I already knew what it was, because the pain is very strong, it looks like a heart attack: the chest hurts, it hurts.”

“He [amigo de Edu] He took me to the Einstein emergency room. There they did image tests and they told me, “Edu, you’ll have to go from ambulance to Einstein’s headquarters in Morumbi.” It was where a larger 0.6 cm stone that would not go out alone detected. The kidney was inflamed, and surgery would be needed, “he said.

Edu said that after removing the kidney stones, the doctor asked for tests for seeing “something strange” in his pancreas and the result, discovered the tumor at the beginning.

“I was lucky because it was detected at the beginning. In addition, the tumor was located at the tail of the pancreas. From what I learned, when it is on the front, the surgery is more delicate and complicated. In the tail, it is possible to remove this part, which makes the procedure less severe,” he explained.

Edu said he had four surgeries in two weeks, and that he removed part of the pancreas, the surrounding nodules and the spleen. He clarified that he is recovering and doing physical therapy, including respiratory.

“The problem of the pancreas is that the symptoms do not appear at the beginning. No one wakes up one day and says, ‘I will take a pancreatic exam.’ And when symptoms appear, it is already advanced, which may be fatal due to metastasis. Thank God, mine was detected at the beginning,” said Edu.

Edu thanked all the messages of affection from fans and friends, and thanked the family and the bride, Ana Hickmann, for all the support provided at this difficult time.

“I played with Ana: ‘I think I’ve used four lives.’ They say the cat has seven, right? I’m counting and already used four. When I left home to come to the hospital, knowing that I would go through delicate surgery, the first thing I did was pray. I asked God to go back […] If I can leave a message, it is: God often gives signs, “he concluded.
