Sardinia and Tuscany face devastating fires. Hundreds of people were evacuated in the midst of intensive intervention of forest news, volunteers and air firefighting teams.

Fires broke out on Sardinia and in Tuscany. Air space above the town of Olbia, located in the north of Sardinia, was closed for a large fire near the state road leading to Sassari. Evacuated visitors

Another fire was engulfed by a pine forest near the camping in Castiglione della Pescaia, a popular recreation center in South Tuscany. For safety reasons, approximately 600 visitors evacuated from there. Civil protection for them provided emergency accommodation, while the municipality provided meals. There are also residential buildings and other tourist facilities near the camp.

The fire also burned in the Tuscan village of Granai di Cinigiano, where the flames engulfed the large forest area in the hilly terrain. Two helicopters were deployed for extinguishing, the fire managed to get under control.
