SEAL (Reuters)-Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol returned to a lonely cell on Thursday, with basic foods and a prison khaki, after the promoters got a new warrant for their attempt to impose martial law on the country last year.

The decision of the Central District Court of Seoul to approve the warrant reinforced the investigation of the Special Council on the allegations that Yoon’s action in December represented obstruction of justice and abuse of power.

The court said in a statement that it granted the request due to concerns that Yoon could try to destroy evidence, returning it to confinement at the Seoul Detention Center, where he spent 52 days at the beginning of the year before being released four months ago for technical reasons.

He returned to live with his wife and 11 dogs and cats in his 164 -square -meter apartment in a noble neighborhood of Seoul. The couple’s net worth is estimated at 7.5 billion wons (US $ 5.47 million), according to a government document.

But Yoon will now be housed in a 10-square-meter lonely cell, will have to wear a two-piece khaki uniform and sleep on a folding mattress on the floor, without air conditioning, according to an employee of the detention center and media reports.

With the heat wave that plagues the country, Yoon will have to have a small electric fan that turns off at night, said Park Jie-Won, an opposition legislator who has been trapped there on an interview program on YouTube.
