Switching Motor of Censorship to the European Commission

The motion is due to the concealment of messages between the chairman of the commission and the administrator of the pharmacist Pfizer, because of the acquisition of vaccines against Covid-19, in 2021.

The censorship motion against the European Commission, the first one that a community executive faces in 10 years, was rejected by a majority in the European Parliament during the Plenary in Strasbourg, France.

The motion of censorship, the first of Ursula Von Der Leyen executive, was spoiled with 360 votes against, 175 in favor and 18 abstentions, and needed two thirds of the votes expressed by the MEOs to be approved.

The president of the European Commission, who has been in office for six years, was not present during the vote.

The motion was presented by a Romanian MEO, from European conservatives and reformists, and received the support of almost 80 MEPs.

The motion is due to the concealment of messages between the committee chair em 2021.
