The Criminal Analysis Observatory of the Public Prosecution Service of the State of Acre (MPAC) released data that indicates a significant drop in crime rates in various regions of the state in the first half of 2025, compared to the same period of 2024.
Dolid homicides had a 5% reduction, while cases of femicide fell 20% in the annual comparison. There was also a highlight for the decrease in intentional violent deaths (MVI), with a 15.6% drop in Rio Branco, 20% in the capital added to Porto Acre, 62.5% in the Tarauacá/Envira region, 25% in Purus, 62.5% in Baixo Acre and 33.3% in prison units of the state.

Some municipalities recorded expressive reductions in MVI, such as:

Plácido de Castro, Marshal Thaumaturgo, Bujari, Acreland and Manoel Urbano: 100%reduction;

Feijó: -77%;

Tarauacá: -71%;

Mâncio Lima: -66%;

Brasileia: -60%.
Thefts also had a downward trend. There were 794 cases in 2025, compared to 1,053 in the same period of the previous year – representing a reduction of 24.6%.

“These results show that we are on the right track. Integrated actions, intelligence investment and the strengthening of policing are bearing fruit. The significant drop in serious crimes, such as homicides and theft, demonstrates our commitment to social peace and the security of the Acre population,” said Acre Secretary of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp), Américo Gaia.
