After Councilman Samir Bestene charged, during a session in the Rio Branco Chamber this Thursday (10), the compliance with Law No. 2,574, which determines the obligation to pay bus tickets through the Pix System, the Rio Branco Municipal Transport and Traffic Superintendence (RBTrans) replied that the system is already in operation.
In a note sent to Contilnet, Superintendent Clendes Vilas Boas stated that PIX payment is available in the Sigo application, already used by several public transport users in the Acrean capital. Also according to the manager, the system has been implemented with responsibility and planning, through a partnership with the company Ricco Transportes.

“The initiative is the result of a partnership that has been built with responsibility and planning. The system is already in operation through the Sigo application, which is being used by several users of public transport,” he said.
Bestene, author of the law, had criticized the lack of application of the norm, sanctioned by Mayor Tião Bocalom and published in the Official Gazette on July 2. According to the councilman, bus validators are not yet updated and users have charged the measure.
RBTrans, in turn, explained that it did not notify or fined the company responsible for public transportation of the capital. The agency stressed that, like every technology project in deployment, the system still undergoes adjustments and improvements, especially to ensure stability, integration with banks and digital wallets, and better usability for passengers.
Law No. 2,574/2025 authorizes the payment of the tariff by digital, especially via PIX, using applications approved by RBTRANS. The goal, according to the legal text, is to modernize the ticketing system and offer more convenience, safety and agility to users, eliminating the need for exclusive use of cash or physical card.
