The governor of, (), decided to maintain the transportation Washington Reis (MDB), signed by state deputy Rodrigo Bacellar () last week.
Castro appointed this Thursday (10) Priscila Salakem, former chief of the office advisory, as secretary of transport.
The decision pleases deputies of the base in the Alerj (Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro), but contradicts the main PL staff in the state, including the senator (PL-RJ), who had requested the return of kings to office.
Probable candidate for the state government in 2026, Bacellar, president of Alerj, took over five days as acting governor during a trip from Castro to Portugal. In the period, he dismissed Reis: he said that the disaffected “” of the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, (PSD), another quoted for the election.
Castro returned to Guanabara Palace on Monday (7) and took three days until he reported a decision. During the silence, Bacellar and deputies threatened to break if the chief executive made the dismissal without effect.
A government representative met on Wednesday night (9) with deputies and read a letter, in which the governor decided to dismiss, but criticized Bacellar. The same content was published on the networks this Thursday (10).
“She [a exoneração] I was already in my forecast and would be held after the return of my vacation. This fact does not justify the untimely and disrespectful act of the President of the Assembly, “said Castro, who will go on vacation next week – Bacellar takes over again.
In the letter, the governor says he agrees with the departure of Reis “because of his signs, misaligned to our political group.”
The surroundings of the government attributes the dismissal to the so-called “shock troop” of Bacellar in Alerj, group of deputies of the PL and the Union Brazil-PP Federation. The plan was already defined before Castro travels, but the governor did not endorse.
The case of exoneration divided the right right. In Brasilia, the Federal Deputy (PL-RJ) and Senator Carlos Portinho (PL-RJ), party leaders in Congress, criticized Bacellar.
“To start a campaign causing disunity and collateral damage to the citizen, without the slightest public spirit, better stop there,” wrote Portinho on social network.
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro tried to intercede for the former secretary.
Castro, pressured by two wings, preferred to quiet members of the Assembly so as not to make the rest of his term unfeasible, according to people close to him.
The governor’s decision avoids the wreck of the Senate agreement: the plan is that Castro leaves office until April and competes alongside Flávio Bolsonaro. During this period, Bacellar will take over the government.
The “Shock Troop” threatened to launch a candidate to make Castro’s situation difficult in the dispute.
On the other hand, the departure of Washington Reis paves the way to fragment the right in the election of the government. He aims to support evangelical leaders and the interior. Kings is close to Pastor Silas Malafaia and Cavalcante’s Sostenes.
Bolsonaro family ally in recent years and state president of, Reis began in May to put himself as a postulant. At the same time, he accepted approximations of Paes, who sees him as potential candidate for senator.
The former secretary, however, is ineligible and tries in the Supreme Court (STF) to reverse a conviction. Former mayor of Duque de Caxias, he was convicted in 2016 for environmental crime by subdividing in the city.
The nod of Kings to a candidacy also messy conversations of Paes, which tries to attract leadership from the interior. One is the mayor of Campos dos Goytacazes, Wladimir Garotinho (PP), son of, former governor of Rio. Wladimir has been courted by Paes and Reis.
Reis and Wladimir met in May, an episode that annoyed the president of Alerj. Campos, the most populous municipality in the interior, is also a political cradle of Bacellar, which rivals the little girl.
