SEA Lady II Superjacht, approximately 41 meters long, caught a fire in Saint-Tropez, France on Thursday. Firefighters around the yacht built a barrier to preventing the sea pollution, but feared the sinking of the ship. TASR informs this based on the AFP report.

Even two hours after the outbreak of the fire, firefighters could not get aboard and in the images of circulating social networks there was a dense black smoke around the port.

Preventive measures

“The surrounding yachts were quickly moved and we put barriers against pollution,” a spokesman for AFP confirmed. He added that the yacht is likely to sink.

Superyacht Times reported that the port has evacuated in preventive measures. According to the portal, it is not clear whether there were any persons on board at the time of the fire.

Superjachta Sea Lady II was built in 1986 and last year underwent the last reconstruction. It works on it by an eight -member crew and serves up to 10 passengers. Each of the five cabins has its own bathroom, AFP reported with reference to the website of Charterlink offering a yacht rental for about 77,000 euros per week.
