President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) appeared on Friday (11), in a public agenda in Espírito Santo, using a cap with the phrase “Brazil is from Brazilians”. The gesture occurs amid the escalating diplomatic tension with US President Donald Trump after the announcement of an exported to the US country.
The cap, which had already been used by Lula in February, shortly after the election of the new boards of the House and Senate, was interpreted as a symbolic nod of affirmation of national sovereignty in the face of US commercial offensive.
The play became a prominence on the president’s allied social networks, who intensified the speech that Brazil will not accept external interference.

The use of symbols such as the cap with the slogan “Brazil is from Brazilians” marks an attempt by the government to dispute with the right the values of patriotism and national independence, often appropriate by pockets.
The theme gained even more relevance after the phrase “Respects Brazil” became one of the most shared topics in the X (former Twitter) since Trump announced the tariffs.
In acts held on Paulista Avenue, on Thursday (10), protesters exhibited posters with criticism of the US President and defended Brazil’s response based on economic reciprocity law, approved this year by the National Congress.
