“The decision of the United States to impose new taxes on strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy should be answered with dialogue in the diplomatic and commercial fields,” says the text.
The note also states: “It will closely follow the developments. With great responsibility, this parliament approved the law of economic reciprocity. A mechanism that gives conditions to our country, to our people, to protect our sovereignty. We will be ready to act with balance and firmness in defense of our economy, our productive sector and the protection of jobs of Brazilians.”
The release of the note occurs after meeting between the two this afternoon. At the end of the House leaders meeting on Thursday, Motta avoided commenting on the matter and said that his position will represent “the feeling of the house.” The subject was the subject of discussion in the collegiate, the door closed, without the presence of advisors.
