Dallas Mavericks’s first match at NBA Summer League on Thursday marked the debut of the wing Cooper Flagg, considered one of the upcoming stars of the US League.
The 18 -year -old ended with 10 points, six rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes played in Dallas’ victory over Los Angeles Lakers 87-85. He still scored three ball thefts and one stump, but ended with the use of the long distance ball. Check out the player’s first basket with the Mavericks shirt in the video below:

Flagg was the 2025 NBA draft and comes with great expectation for next season. He will return to the courts next Saturday (12), at 17h (Brasília), to face San Antonio Spurs, team of shipowner Dylan Harper, second overall choice of the last draft.
Meet Cooper Flagg
Born in the city of Newport, in the state of Maine, Cooper Flagg began standing out in basketball in Nokomis Regional High Schoolfrom your hometown. Then he moved to Montverde Academy, An important sports center in Florida, where the wing was elected the best athlete in the country. Ranked as the main prospect of his class, Cooper accepted the invitation of Duke University to join university basketball.
As a freshman in Duke, Flagg had impressive averages of 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 ball theft and 1.4 stump per game, leading the Blue Devils to the NCAA final dispute. He fHi elected the best college player in the country with the Wooden Award, as well as winning ACC’s newbie award and joining the defensive team of the conference.
This is just the second time in the history of Dallas Mavericks that the team has the first choice of the draft. The last one had been in 1981, when they selected Mark Aguirre of the Depaul University.
