The approval of the state budget for next year will be the largest examination of the coalition. However, it is necessary to reach the agreement and approve the proposal in parliament. This was stated for TASR by the Chairman of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic Richard Raši (Voice-SD), saying that there is no work in the budgetary makeshift.

“The coalition will go strong in the autumn. But autumn will be difficult because we have fundamental things. The first strong topic is a consolidation package, Since it will have an impact on the lives of some part of the company. Someone must be taken, somewhere they have to save. The second strong topic will be the budget. It must be approved in November. The deadline is so that the budget does not have to be balanced, as this is not possible, ”he noted for TASR.

The President of Parliament assumes that everyone will not be satisfied with the resulting budget. “However, it is important that someone is not a winner and someone defeated. And especially that there are no defeats of Slovak citizens,” he said. He appealed to the agreement. “If the government wants to work further and I still say that we do not have an alternative in opposition to the current government, then we have to agree on the budget agreement, otherwise it would be a big problem for the government coalition, but also for the functioning of the whole state,” added.

He confirmed that Finance Minister Ladislav Kamenický (Smer-SD) has already presented a draft consolidation measures within the coalition. It is supposed to be 68 measures for about three billion euros. “In the voice-SD we have defined red lines through which we do not exceed, and this mainly concerns old people, sick people, young families and all who are socially weaker. It will certainly not save or consolidate at the expense of people who already have little,” declared Raši.

According to him, finding an agreement on the budget and consolidation measures will be a coalition test. He currently considers it stable. “The stability of the coalition has a single parameter, and the passing of laws in parliament. All coalition proposals have passed at this parliamentary session, the government’s draft laws passed without problems, that is, the coalition is stabilized,” noted.

He described the voice-SD as a stabilizing element in the coalition. He pointed out that voice-SD representatives do not enter the fighting and avoid public references. “We did not make problems even though the coalition treaty for the election of the President of Parliament was not complied with for nine months,” argued.
