The Slovaks who flew from Bratislava’s airport on vacation in Sardinia remained trapped on an aircraft from which they did not allow them to get out of the emergency landing. It was very hot on board, the air conditioner did not work, and one woman who lost consciousness had to call an ambulance, the portal reports.
The flight was redirected because of a fire near the airport in Olbia, where the plane was originally supposed to land. Instead landed at the Airport in Alghero, where Passengers had to spend several hours on board in difficult conditions.
“We’ve been here for four hours and I still don’t know what’s going on. Nobody communicates with us, nor the company Tip Travel, who refuses to give us contact with a delegate who is in the Olbia to explain something to us. We ran out of water, people fell off here, we had to call an ambulance. They didn’t want to let us go out of the plane. There are pregnant women, old people and small children who have been completely scared and don’t know what to do, ” David Tarčák, who was stuck in his family with his family, said.
Passengers called the emergency line of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they told them that they are currently checking the situation at the airport, but did not provide them with further information. “I tried to call the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they are very lax to this situation and we do not know what to do. One gentleman banged the pilot because they did not want to open the door, there was no climate and his wife fainted. It’s terrible, ” He described the tense situation directly on the plane.
After a few hours, the rescuers entered the board and provided help to a woman who lost consciousness. “They only gave us a glass of water, the food has been a long time ago. It is very warm, people have been wrapped all the time,” David added, and the staff did not know well in English, as a result of which communication with employees of the airline was difficult. They then announced the passengers that they could take their suitcases at their own expense and get to the hotel.
