President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) said on Thursday (10/7) that US President Donald Trump could be sued and arrested if he did in Brazil what he did in the United States. He was parallel between former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL )’s stance when he lost his elections in 2022 and Trump’s in 2020, which resulted in the invasion of the capitol when five people died. The statement occurred to National newspaperfrom TV Globo.
“What President Trump has to know is that here in Brazil he had done what he did in the United States with the elections, he would also be sued. He would be judged and if guilty, he would be arrested. This is how the law works for everyone in the world. And we need to learn to respect,” he said.
