Bus attacks, which take place since June 12 in various regions of the state of São Paulo, complete 1 month with about 616 cases registered. The data are from SPTrans and Artesp (São Paulo State Transportation Agency) that have accounted for vandalism in public transport systems.
According to SPTrans, between Friday (11) and dawn on Saturday (12), 24 cases of depredation were recorded in the state capital. “The acts took place distributed throughout all regions of the city,” the company said.
“SPTrans reinforces the guidance for concessionaires to immediately communicate all cases to the Operations Center and formalize occurrences with the police authorities,” he advised in a statement.
SSP-SP (São Paulo Public Security Secretariat) reported that last Thursday (10), a man was arrested in the act after, in the East Zone.
“He was charged for qualified damage and attack against the safety of another means of transport,” said the agency. The man remained arrested at the disposal of the courts and the occurrence was registered with the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic).
Previous arrests
On Saturday (5), two men were arrested in the act after damaging collectives in Pirituba and Santo Amaro, in the west and south, respectively, the secretary said.
Already on Sunday (6) the Civil Police arrested a man suspected of a bus attack that left a passenger injured after being hit with a stone on his face on June 27.
The SSP said the Pedrado left the woman with multiple fractures in bones of the face, and she was at risk of life. The man was identified and arrested by the Civil Police in compliance with an arrest warrant.
In addition, on Friday (4), a teenager was also seized by acts of vandalism and later released to those responsible.
Three dealers concentrate attacks
A report from the Civil Police points out that buses registered in the city of São Paulo. The data show that the largest targets are Mobibrasil, with 40 occurrences, Transppass, with 28, and Viação Grajaú, with 26 damaged buses.
Most cases happened in the southern and west of the capital.
Operation Impact
The Military Police launched, on Thursday (3) A-protection of collectives, which mobilized about 7,800 police and 3,600 vehicles across the state, with the objective of ensuring the safety of passengers and public transport employees.
