CBF’s general coordinator of men’s teams, Rodrigo Caetano, and the technical coordinator of, Juan Santos, visited the New York City training center on Friday (11), a club that disputes Major League Soccer (MLS), a US professional soccer league. The commitment is part of the observations that the entity have made aiming at the 2026 World Cup.
The CBF has placed in the radar several training centers that could receive the national team during the tournament, which will be played in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The purpose of the CBF is to find the best structure of lawn, accommodation and logistics to be the headquarters of the Brazilian team.
– A World Cup is won and gets lost on and off the pitch. Our job is to plan, identify all the possibilities and be aware of all the details, so that in the World Cup period everything goes strictly according to the desire of Carlo Ancelotti’s coaching staff. And also give the best conditions for the athletes of the selection, not only during the dispute, but also in that preparatory period of the last date of June – told Rodrigo Caetano, to the CBF website.
Rodrigo Caetano and Juan Santos have been in the United States since last week. The leaders watched Fluminense games in the competition, the semifinal between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain and will follow the big decision of the Club World Cup on Sunday (13), between PSG and Chelsea, at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.
The CBF leader made an assessment of the competition.
– It was very important for Brazilian football the good performance of our representatives. This shows that we have good work done in management and planning, not to mention the great professionals who make up the technical committees and the good structures of each club, allowing you to compete on an equal footing with other teams, especially with European giants.
In addition to observations with Brazilian athletes, the Club World Cup has served to bring further closer and promote an exchange with FIFA, already aiming for the World Cup next year.
– It is essential that we understand competition in the United States, because much of what we saw here will now be put into practice in 2026, knowing that Mexico and Canada will also host the event. Issues such as stadiums, logistics, travel, climate, cities structures, accommodation and training conditions, finally, a huge range of information and details that will be analyzed and worked by us, always aiming for the best for the Brazilian team – concluded Rodrigo Caetano.
