ENEVA anticipates thermal capacity reserve contracts

SAO PAULO (Reuters)-Eneva () reported on Friday (11) that the Ministry of Mines and Energy approved the anticipation of the beginning of the company’s thermoelectric plant reserve contracts.

Electric CEO Lino Cançado had already informed journalists that the company could anticipate the Parnaíba IV plant to offer about 39 MW of energy to the system amid delay in the reserve auction.

The plant has a capacity of 56 MW, but with 39 MW sold in the 2021 reserve auction. The delivery of this energy was initially planned for July 1, 2026.

In a statement on Friday, in addition to Parnaíba IV, Eneva announced that thermoelectric plants generates Maranhão I and II and Viana will also have the early beginning.

According to the document, the 175 MW capacity Viana plant will start on August 1, while for the Geramar I and II (332 MW) and Parnaíba IV (56 MW) plants on October 1.

The company foresees an increase in revenue of about R $ 136.3 million for the Viana Plant, R $ 196.8 million for Geramar I and II; and R $ 29.1 million for Parnaíba IV, referring to the originally contracted fixed revenues.

The expiration of contracts to all assets is unchanged on July 1, 2041, he added.

ENEVA also reported that it made the payment of additional contingent installment of R $ 122.4 million related to the purchase of GERA Maranhão, at the time holding the Geramar I and II plants, and the association agreement that resulted in the incorporation of the thermoelectric viana SA, then owner of the viana plant.

As part of the Association Agreement, the company said, about 4.38 million new common shares will be issued by ENEVA in favor of BTG Pactual, due to the exercise of subscription bonus approved at the meeting last year.
