“It's my happy place”: British has visited more than 100 times this paradise destination in Spain and ensures that it is the “perfect place”

There are destinations that eventually become part of the life of those who visit them. Whether by the weather, the paradisiacal beaches, or the memories they create, certain places become a refuge where it is returned without account. For an 81 -year -old British, this place is in Spain, in a tourist destination that is the most sought after by British tourists.

More than 100 trips to Benidorm

Renee Roebuck, reformed and former fruit market worker, has been in Benidorm over 100 times over 31 years. For this British, no other destination can match what you find in that Spanish coastal city. Renee says she visits Benidorm four to five times a year, accompanied by her husband Alan and, on some occasions, her children and grandchildren, even passing the Christmas in family, says Daily Mail.

A passion that goes beyond the beachs

While many tourists look for Benidorm by the sun, the paradise beaches and the historic zone, there is something very special that always makes Renee return. According to Birmingham Mail, quoted by the same source, what attracts her most is the tribute band shows, which abound in the city’s hotels and bars.

Renee dresses with band merchandising and watches different performances every night, even taking the stage to dance alongside the artists.

Taxes: The Secret of Success

According to a recent Tui study, nine out of ten British people like to see tribute bands during the holidays, considering this type of spectacle more attractive than alternatives such as karaoke or nightclubs. About 68%of respondents point to tribute bands as their favorite form of entertainment abroad, leaving behind other options like Karaoke (43%) and nightlife in discos (37%).

Renee is already part of the local scenario

Rotherham’s British says that, due to the frequency of visits, many artists in this destination in Spain already recognize it. “They bring me to the stage and talk to me after the shows,” he explained, quoted by the same source. For Renee, the big difference between a concert of a famous band and a tribute show is in their proximity to the artists. “We can get to know them better and they interact more with the audience, showing their personality,” he said.

A life with new horizons after disease

At 60, Renee was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery with two thirds of the stomach. Since then, he has decided to make the most of his life. For it, this means spending the days sunbathing and nights listening to live music. His favorite performances are taxes to Bob Marley and Take That, but he appreciates the wide variety of artists available in Benidorm.

Lauren Chant, granddaughter of Renee, works as a travel agent at Tui in Sheffield and is the one who organizes most of these trips, which eventually become moments of conviviality for the whole family.

Renee prefers to be housed in a calmer area, but close to the shows. “I usually book with Tui because they have tributes in hotels. When I get apartments, I end up walking to hotels or bars to see the artists,” he explained.

Entertainment is a decisive factor

Tui’s study also reveals that for 24% of British, the choice of vacation destination depends on the type of entertainment available. About 85% of respondents watch at least two tribute shows during a week of vacation, which, according to the source previously mentioned, confirms the importance of these events in the tourist sector.

A city that has everything

For the British, this tourist destination in Spain remains the perfect place. “There are calm places and busiest zones, a beautiful beach and is never bored. There is always a lot to do, especially if you like tribute bands,” he said.

Despite having visited the destination more than 100 times, it guarantees that it does not get tired of the city and promises to continue traveling there while it can, according to.

A ‘refuge’ with special meaning

Renee admits that she doesn’t leave much in England to save money for her travels to Benidorm. “If it were for me, I would never come home,” he said, stressing that he finds in that Spanish city the joy he values so much.

Happiness on each trip

“Benidorm is my happy place,” he said, stressing that he has never thought twice since the first visit. For the British, each trip is more than tourism: it is an opportunity to live life fully, in contact with music, the sun and the company that likes it.
