A teenager identified as 15 -year -old Raylan Wenny died of drowning on Saturday afternoon (12) while visiting his girlfriend’s family on a rural property in the Tocantins settlement project, located at Km 9 of Ramal Boa União, with access by Km 11 of the Ramal of Paulistas, in the Vila do V region of Porto Acre, in the interior of Acre.

According to information passed on by close friends of the victim, Raylan, resident of the São Francisco region, had gone to the rural area of Porto Acre to visit his girlfriend’s family. After lunch, the young man left the residence and went to a nearby dam to take a shower. During the attempt to cross the spring swimming, he was drowning. Girlfriend’s family members still tried to help him, but as he removed him from the water, he was already lifeless.
The Military Police were called and, upon arriving at the property, confirmed the incident, isolated the area and requested the support of the technical-scientific police. A criminal expert and necropsy agents performed the procedures on site and then removed the body to the headquarters of the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in Rio Branco, where the cadaverous exams will be performed. After the procedures, the body was released for the family to perform the wake and the burial.
The Raízes da Capoeira group, of which Raylan was part, issued a note of regret on Saturday night (12). In the note, the group highlighted the qualities of the young capoeirista and his joy during training, presentations and athlete’s life.
Although it is a seemingly accidental death, the case will be investigated by the Porto Acre Civil Police.
