The vice president and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, said on Sunday that the regulation of the so-called Reciprocity Law should be published by Tuesday (15). The legislation, approved by the National Congress, authorizes Brazil to adopt tariff and non -tariff measures against – recent US, which decided to overlax the products exported by the country by 50%.
“The National Congress passed an important law called reciprocity, saying: what rates there, fare here. It allows not only tariff issues, but also not tariff. And the regulation, which is by decree, should be leaving tomorrow or Tuesday,” said Alckmin, in an interview given after event in Francisco Morato (SP).
The vice president also pointed out that the government is working to reverse the tariffs imposed by the United States and intends to take the theme to the World Trade Organization (WTO). “This fare is not justified, it even harms the US consumer,” he said. “In addition, of the ten products they export most to us, eight have no imposition. We will work to reverse it.”

According to him, the Brazilian response will also be built in dialogue with the private sector. “The idea is to talk to important sectors of agriculture and industry, such as orange, coffee, meat, steel … There is integration between production countries, especially in steel and automotive industry, and the economic world needs stability and predictability,” he said.
The interview was granted after the inauguration of a viaduct in Francisco Morato (SP), a work that received $ 31 million in investments, being $ 25 million from the federal government and $ 6 million from the city.
