The operation of the (Brazilian Institute of Renewable Natural Resources), in Amazonas, targeted people who have been targets of process for murder and invasion of public land, repeat offenders in crimes against nature.
The institute applied R $ 173 million in fines, in an action that took place after 19 thousand hectares in the last 12 months, an area equivalent to 26 thousand soccer fields.
In total, 87 infraction notices were made against 46 people for illegal deforestation (including areas of land reform and environmental preservation settlement), invasion and grabbing of public land, non -compliance with an anterior embargo or by preventing the regeneration of vegetation.
One of these people is Clayton da Silva. In March, he was the subject of a police report framed in the Maria da Penha Law – the details of the case are confidential to protect the victim.
This year, he was the target of Ibama infraction notices for raising cattle irregularly from both the juma settlement and in embargoed areas. He was also the target of Ibama in 2011 and 2006.

Diego Soukef was assessed this year because it hinders the action of environmental inspection, accumulating waste of pesticides and breaking up previous embargoes of Ibama.
He is a defendant in an action for repossession filed by Incra (National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform) for illegally using lots for a sustainable development project in Pará. The Federal Court gave reason to the institute, and determined the return of an area of 4,883 hectares, but it is still possible to appeal.

Finally, Mario Mattes has already been charged with illegal destruction of native vegetation of the Amazon rainforest, for irregularly storing toxic substances and non -compliance with embargoes, among other infractions.
He is registered as owner of more than 1 million hectares on rural properties in the Amazon, and responds to a confidential process for qualified homicide, also in the municipality of Apuí.
