About 150 people spent the night at Sants station in Barcelona due to the suspension of rail traffic decreed on Saturday following heavy rains in the Spanish region of Catalonia.

According to Civil Protection, about 150 people slept at the station, where they were assisted by the local red cross.

Renfe, the state -owned Spanish trainer operator, suspended on Saturday in the early afternoon all rail services in Catalonia due to the risk of flooding caused by torrential rains.
