Laval – The eighth stage of the Tour de France on Saturday offered little racing action and a preprogrammed mass sprint. On the largely flat section of Saint-Méen-Le-Grand to Laval (171.4 km), an outlier duo from the Total Energy team only settled after about 90 kilometers, which was easily caught up by the field. Jonathan Milan prevailed in the sprint, the 24-year-old Lidl Trek professional from Friuli celebrated his first tour.
