Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum, and European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen reacted on Saturday 12 to the threats of US President Donald Trump from imposing 30% rates on Mexican products and the European bloc from the United States from the 1st with requests to negotiate new tariff agreements with the White House.

“We are still willing to continue work for an agreement before August 1st. At the same time, we will take all the necessary measures to safeguard the EU’s interests, including the adoption of proportional contracted if necessary,” he said.
The Republican justified fares to the neighboring country as a response to the fentanyl crisis that, according to him, has been caused in part by mexico’s alleged failure to combat drug trafficking.
“Mexico has not yet managed to stop the cartels trying to turn all North America into a drug trafficking playground,” Trump said in the document.

For the European economic bloc, Trump says the rate offensive seeks to reduce the US commercial deficit with the European Union.
“Understand that the 30% are far below the necessary to eliminate the disparity of the commercial deficit with the EU,” the Republican wrote.
