The first Wyoming coal mine in decades is launching a potentially half a billion dollar effort to extract rare fossil fuel land metals, which are crucial for technology products and military equipment.
US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Wyoming governor Mark Gordon, and the Wyoming Congress delegation participated in an inauguration ceremony on Friday to Brook Mine da Ramaco Resources in the northeast of the state.
“Not only will we get coal here, but we will also get those elements of rare land that will break our dependence on China,” Wright told Fox News do local.
