The investigation, conducted by the Lisbon Department of Criminal Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP), focuses on a notarial justification deed that allowed the Chamber Pereira and five other heirs register a valuable property in Lisbon In their names, allegedly to the detriment of the remaining 71 heirs.
The complaint came from 25 heirs who accused Nuno da Câmara Pereira, his brothers Maria Francisca, Maria da Conceição and Luís Gonzaga Pacheco, as well as Mariana Telles da Silva Homem de Melo, to have made false statements before a notary by claiming that the building, known as Lisbon Salon, was assigned to them by adverse possessionbased on a supposed verbal sharing held in 1994 – something that complaining guarantees never happened.
The deed, signed in July 2024, allowed the six heirs to register the property in the finances and conservatory of the building registration. According to the complaint, the inheritance remains undividedand the Scripture signatories acted in bad faith to appropriate the property, located at Rua da Mouraria, in Martim Moniz, with 481 m². Three witnesses who validated the facts are also under investigation.
The Lisbon Salon, once a popular “Pion Cinema” Lisbon inaugurated in 1915, was recorded on behalf of the Countess in 1893. The property has been in dispute for years, and was even target of coercive works imposed by the Chamber Lisbon Municipal in 2016, funded with contributions from the heirs.
The revelation comes at a time when Nuno da Câmara Pereira, former president of the Monarchical Popular Party, is a candidate for arriving at the Belmonte Chamber in the 2025 local elections.
The complainant heirs have already advanced with an challenge of the deed and a precautionary proceeding in the judicial court of the District of Lisbon. The Attorney General’s Office has not yet confirmed whether there are defendants constituted within the inquiry.
