(Reuters) – Several Saudi companies, including ACWA Power, heavyweight from the public service sector, and a subsidiary of the Aramco oil giant, signed energy purchase agreements on Sunday (13) for clean energy projects with a capacity of 15 gigawatts and investments worth about $ 8.3 billion, said the Saudi States News Agency (SPA).
Acwa Power has signed seven contracts as the main developer, in partnership with Water and Electricity Holding Co (Badeel), owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), and the Power, a spa unit, according to the SPA.
Projects include five photovoltaic solar plants in the cities of Aseer, Medina, Mecca and Riyadh, and two wind energy projects in Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia aims to build up to 130 gigawatts of renewable capacity by 2030, according to last year.
