It is not known how many people were on the plane

A small 12-meter plane drew this Sunday at Southend de London airport in Essex, England, causing a “ball of fire” at the scene.

Essex police reveal that it received a warning about 4:00 pm for a “collision involving a 12 meter plane.” “We are working with all emergency services on site and this work will continue for several hours. We ask the public to avoid this area while the work decides,” says the police, quoted by, adding that this is a “serious incident”.

It is not known for sure how many people were on the plane, which, according to the same source, is a B200 Super King Air Beech. According to FlightRadar flight location service, the plane took off at 15:48 and was destined for Lelystad in the Netherlands.

Images that circulate on social networks show a large cloud of black smoke. A witness cited by Sky News says he saw a “fireball” at Southend airport, about 56 kilometers east of London.

Quoted by Sky News, a man, who was at Southend airport with his family around the incident, said the plane “fired headfirst on the floor.”

“About three or four seconds after take-off, began to lean heavily to the left and, a few seconds later, he reversed more or less and drew up,” says the man, identified by Sky News as John Johnson.

Then he adds, exploded “a large fireball.” The witness reveals that it was he who called emergency services to communicate the incident.

However, according to the airport, four international flights have already been canceled following this incident, one of them bound for Faro. Another plane from Faro to Southend was diverged to Stansted Airport in London.
