How long to cook dried mushrooms? Don't make this mistake or they will be tough and lose their flavor

One of the most popular methods are special dryers, but you do not need to buy them to effectively dry the specimens collected in the forest. There are several other, equally effective methods. Choose the one that suits you best.

Let’s start with equipment that many people have at home. Mushrooms can be successfully dried in the oven – as standard, they should be cleaned, check whether they are worm and cut into thin slices. Then they should be arranged on a baking tray (one layer) and Put in the oven preheated to approx. 50 degrees C. It is best to turn off the hot air and leave the door slightly ajar – thanks to this the water will be able to escape. They have to be cyclically rotated. Drying depending on the type and thickness of the slices can take 3 to 6 hours. It is worth checking the state of mushrooms at least half an hour.

Another way is Drying fungi in a microwave, but this method is better to avoid, because it deprives mushrooms of taste and is very time consuming.

The weather outside the windows is worth using and drying mushrooms, just as our grandmothers were used to. Drying in the sun is the most natural process that retains a strong aroma and the taste of mushrooms. The way is simple, but it depends on the aura. However, during the holidays you can count on a lot of sunny days, so this method can work great. As in any other case, the mushrooms should be cleaned and cut into slices. Then place them on paper, e.g. a newspaper or a wooden board. Exhibit outside, it can be a terrace and wait. After a few days, under the influence of the sun and wind, the mushrooms will dry out. It is worth turning them over from time to time.

Drying mushrooms on the thread is another grandmother. Mushrooms should be carried to the cord and protected the ends. Then hang a lot of sun into a place where there is a draft and a lot of sun. The downside, as in the previous method, is a long time and dependence on the weather. Nevertheless, in the summer months it is worth using this way when the weather is favorable. It is also worth remembering that in both cases you should take mushrooms home overnight.

In autumn, drying mushrooms on the radiator is a popular method. Location on a piece of paper, and then on the radiator (it should be heated to about 50 degrees C.) is a good method for drying autumn collections, However, in the summer it will not work. Drying mushrooms in the fridge is another slightly controversial method. Contrary to appearances, this can be done. They should be unfolded on paper so that they do not touch and do not touch the walls of the fridge, the moisture absorber will also be needed. However, this method has a lot of disadvantages, above all it is long -lasting, besides, the fungi can go through the smell of the fridge, and their aroma can move to other products.
