Intelligence agents killed on Sunday (13) members of the Russian secret service suspected for the murder of a Ukraine Security Service Colonel (SBU), Ivan Voronich. According to a statement from the Ukrainian Intelligence Agency, the operation aimed to arrest the agents of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). They would have been killed in a confrontation after resisting prison.
The SBU pointed two people, a man and a woman, as suspicion of Voronich’s murder. It was not informed how many agents were killed. To date, Russian authorities have not publicly commented on what happened. During the war, which has extended for more than three years, other high -ranking Russian military officers were killed by Ukraine.
On Wednesday (9), it had launched the biggest attack with drones against Ukraine since the beginning of the war. In early June, Ukraine also used drones in a surprise attack on Russian military bases, causing damage to the rival’s air arsenal.
Since the invasion of Russia, Colonel Voronich was part of an elite unit that played a key role in Ukraine’s surprise attack on the Kursk region of Russia, which resulted in an occupation of eight months from Russian territory by Ukrainian troops.
