One can fall in love with artificial intelligence (AI), it is happening more and more often. This was pointed out by the civic association IPčko. According to him, a psychological point of view is not a fad, but a reaction to deep human needswhich AI fulfills to some extent. Experts, however, warn that although AI can look very convincing, it is a technology that does not feel.
Ipčko pointed out that the number of applications or games in which an artificial intelligence can communicate as a partner, friend or trustee. “For many, they have become an escape from reality, intimate support or substitute for a real relationship. Young people often tell us about chatbots as their partners or partners. Some call them on behalf, spend hours a day and experience emotions that do not differ from real falling in love.”
According to him, it is manifested by joy, “butterflies in the abdomen” and the desire to write more and more. Equally fantasy expansion of AI personality, the feeling that he understands and is always present or replacing real relationships by interacting with it. Experts have explained that from a psychological point of view it is a response to deep human needs such as safety, understanding, closeness or meaning that AI fulfills to some extent.
“AI reacts back, and thus creates an illusion of reciprocity, AI is always available, does not argue, does not refuse, and does not impose demands as common interpersonal relationships. This makes an AI ideal ‘partner’ for people who experience a more demanding period may have a lower self -esteem, fear of rejection or traumatic relationship experience.” The brain does not distinguish whether it is a person or an algorithm. “If oxytocin or dopamine is washed out, survival is realistic.
