Four people died in a small plane crash at London’s Southend Airport

The Beechcraft aircraft accident at the Southend Airport claimed four victims. The airport is closed.

On Sunday, a small plane crash shortly after taking off from the Southend International Airport near London, four people died, the British police said on Monday. This is reported by TASR based on DPA and AP reports.

The police in the Essex Countess stated that the airport was shortly before 4 pm local time (5 pm CEST) to a “serious incident” of a 12-meter plane. According to the media, it was the Beechcraft B200 Super King Air aircraft airline Zeusch Aviation heading to the Netherlands, which crashed just a few minutes after the start. The Dutch authorities confirmed the accident. The police state that they are working to identify victims, none of whom have British citizenship.

Black smoke clouds

Photos circulating on social networks show black smoke towers coming out of the accident. DPA reports that aircraft of the same type are often used to transport patients or organs intended for transplantation.

The aircraft before the accident flew on Sunday from Greek Athens to the town of Pula in Croatia and then to the Southend airport near London. However, the take -off towards the Netherlands of Llystad, however, ended in tragically. The Southend Airport closed the authorities.

The eyewitness for PA said he was at the airport with his family at the time of the accident. According to him, the plane crashed into the ground with his nose and turned into a “large fire ball”. Shortly before the accident he and other watches waved the pilots who returned the greeting.

The Southend Airport is located 60 kilometers east of London near Southend-on-Sea in Essex. The nearby ragby club and the golf club evacuated preventively. According to the airport website, several flights were planned for Monday.
