A 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit the coast of the Tanibbar islands region of Indonesia on Monday (14), the USGS (United States Geological Service) said.
The geophysical agency of the country adding that there was no potential for Tsunami.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 98 km, the agency said.
GFZ (German Geoscience Research Center) stated that the tremor was of magnitude 6.8 and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
Tremors were felt in several small towns in eastern Indonesia, the service declared.
There were no immediate reports of damage, according to the Indonesian disaster mitigation agency.
Indonesia is located in the so -called Pacific Ring of Fire, a high seismic activity zone, where different land crust plates meet and create a large number of earthquakes and volcanic activity.
