While the southwest and south of Slovakia intervene on Monday afternoon heat, in the east of Slovakia they have to count in the second half of the day with storms. In both cases, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI) issued a first level warning.

The high temperature warning applies to the districts of Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra and the southern part of the Banská Bystrica region. “Between 13.00 and 18.00, the temperature can reach 33 degrees in these regions,” Meteorologists have refined with alerting the risks of high temperature for human health and fire.

In most of the Prešov and Košice regions, there may be strong storms associated with a sharp downpour with a intensity of 20 – 30 mm/30 min, hail and wind impact with a speed of 65 – 85 km/h from noon until the evening. In this case too, the SHMI warns of damage that can cause strong winds or hail or flood phenomena, which are not excluded in the intensity rainfall.
