Iron Dome, or “Iron Summit”, the Israeli’s anti -meat system

“These are batteries of defensive missiles we do not have and we need,” said Mosteani in an interview with Romanian public television.
“When we saw Telavive images during the Iranian attack and saw ‘Iron Dome’ in action, it is this same system that will also protect our airports, military bases or, if necessary, our cities,” he added, referring to the recent soil.
The purchase is part of Romania’s strategy to reinforce national security, and the contract, evaluated in 1.6 billion euros And supported by a contest launched in 2023, this fall, according to local media, must be completed.
The only company that remains in the competition process is Israelite Rafaelresponsible for system development. Therefore, the Romanian authorities declared it the winner, although the competition process has not yet been officially completed.
The iron dome is designed to intercep ballistic missiles, rockets and drones in short -range trajectories and is used in Israel to protect important infrastructures and urban areas.
Mosteanu specified that about 30% From the Romania defense budget, which is equivalent to 2.5% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), is currently intended for military purchases.
In addition to the summit, Romania, which borders Ukraine, plans to acquire short -range missiles and corvettes and wishes to participate in joint projects such as the Mistral 3 Manpad portable anti -aircraft system.
The selected variant of the iron dome system, the ‘Spyder’, will replace both the old Soviet systems still in use and the veterans American systems ‘Hawk’.
