Ukraine is deploying a new unmanned aircraft, an ultra -light aircraft Shark of Slovak production. The Senica machine, manufactured by Shark Aero, was specially adapted for the needs of the radioelectronic fight (ST). This was reported by representatives of the company at Aerosalon in Paris, and the report was also published by a former fighter pilot and the well-known French blogger Pierre-Henri Chuet, known as Athe.

Against Iranian Shahids and Russian Orlan
Modified Shark is equipped with antennas to detect electromagnetic drone profiles such as Iranian shahids or Russian Orlana. Satellite navigation devices (eg glonass) and video transmission signals and drone control were installed under the aircraft to the aircraft. The aircraft itself does not destroy the drones itself, but their signals can disrupt so much that they deviate from the planned route or do not finish their role.
Shark is a lightweight plane with a two -man crew that lasts long hours in the air and can disturb the signals of enemy drones from a height. The Ukrainian version has a stronger generator and thanks to its lightweight construction it is easy to transport and build directly in the field.
Although it is a small and relatively simple machine, the Ukrainian army expects it to support important support in the fight against drone attacks. Basically, this is an easy alternative to specialized PLAs like EA-18G Growler or Tornado Ecr, but without weapon systems. Shark also does not have its own goal search sensors, must be guided from the ground and act in cooperation with other air defense units.
A combination of Slovak engineering and Ukrainian needs
It is not yet clear whether it is a commercial sale, a gift from partners, or official military assistance. It is interesting that Ukraine has so far gained only one piece, which serves as a prototype or test unit. If the solution is proven, additional deliveries may be followed.
Placing the jammers on the aircraft allows to create continuous interference from height, which is more effective than land systems, especially against satellite navigation. The advantage is also fast mobility and flexibility. However, the weather conditions and the absence of armaments are limited.
The Shark aircraft represents a combination of Slovak engineering and Ukrainian needs in the modern guide of war. A small aircraft from Senica can play an important role in defense against the constantly increasing threat of drone attacks.
