A Spanish group of rights of people with disabilities promised to file a lawsuit against the alleged hiring of people with dwarfism as entertainment at the recent 18th anniversary party of Barcelona football, Lamine Yamal, condemning practice as discriminatory.
The young tip, who helped Spain win over the Euro last year, celebrated his age on Saturday (12) with a star -filled party that included famous music industry guests such as Bizarrap, Bad Gyal and Quevedo, as well as many of his teammates in Barça and digital influencers.
ADEE (Association of People with Sleeping and other skeletal dysplasia) stated in a statement that the use of people with dwarfism as a show at the party of Yamal Perpetua stereotypes, feeds discrimination and undermines the dignity and rights of people with disabilities.
The Association cited the Spanish Law on Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which prohibits shows or recreational activities that use people with disabilities in order to provoke ridicule or compromise their dignity.
“It is unacceptable that in the 21st century, people with dwarfism are still used for entertainment at private parties, especially when there are public figures involved,” said ADEE President Carolina Puente.
“The dignity and rights of our community cannot be a source of fun under any circumstances.”
Yamal’s representatives did not immediately respond to Reuters’s commentary requests.
Yamal published on Monday on his Instagram account video of a minute with the best moments of the party, showing the companions of Barça, Gavi and Robert Lewandowski, playing poker and roulette, although he did not show people with acra-Andrandroplasia, the genetic disorder that causes dwarfism.
The Spaniard – which won Laliga, the King Cup and the Spanish Super Cup with Barça this season – wore a white suit with a red rose in the lapel, luxurious jewels and a cane, according to the theme “Italian gangster” of the party.
