Since the beginning of the year, Brazil has paid R $ 1.3 billion in obligations with international organizations, said on Monday (14) the .According to the folder, the country is up to date with 62 external organizations. The largest volume was paid to the United Nations (UN). According to the planning, Brazil fully paid contributions to the regular budget of and for the residual mechanism for Criminal Courts (IRM).

The Brazilian government also made contribution to the United Nations Peace Missions. “You regional integration and international cooperation, in areas such as trade and finance, health, human rights, science and technology, environment and sustainable development, ”the ministry said in a statement.

Since 2024, Brazil has entered the list of countries up to date with the United Nations. According to the portfolio, in 2025, the country will continue to pay obligations to reaffirm Brazil’s commitment to the multilateral system and the role of the UN in an adverse global scenario.

According to the planning, the country also paid contributions with the following bodies:

  • World Health Organization (WHO);
  • World Trade Organization (WTO);
  • International Criminal Court (ICC);
  • Community of Portuguese -speaking countries (CPLP);
  • International Maritime Organization (IMO);
  • European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), a scientific center that develops experiments with atomic subparticles.

Mercosur

In the regional sphere, Brazil paid off obligations with the following institutions:

  • Organization of American States (OAS);
  • Mercosur Secretariat;
  • Latin American Integration Association (Aladi);
  • Organization of the Amazonian Cooperation Treaty (OTCA);
  • Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), among others.

Multilateral banks

In the financial area, Brazil has included the quota of the International Financial Corporation (IFC), a financial institution linked to the World Bank that finances private investments in emerging countries. The payment, informed the planning, strengthened Brazil’s participation in the institution’s decisions and to foster the financing of private investments with positive socioeconomic impact, in line with the National Development Agenda.

The country also began payment of the integralization of quotas from the Latin America and the Caribbean Development Bank (CAF) and the Financial Fund for the development of the Silver Basin (Fonplata).

Environment

In the year in which the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30) in Belém, Brazil also honored commitments to the following organizations aimed at environmental preservation. Among the prominent payments are those made to the following institutions:

  • Convention on Migratory Species (CMS);
  • United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD);
  • Convention on the international trade of wildfare and endangered wildfread and wild fauna (CITES).
