The Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, said on Monday, 14, that the decree that regulates the economic reciprocity law “is ready” and will leave in the Federal Official Gazette on Tuesday, 15.

“The decree does not quote country, as the law does not quote. The law authorizes the executive to adopt protection measures of the country when extemporaneous and extraordinary measures are unilaterally adopted by other countries in Brazil,” the minister said.

Rui said Lula will sign the decree on Monday and he will be published in DOU on Tuesday.

Costa also said that the government “already has a proposal” on the increase in the tax on financial operations (IOF), which is the full text signed by the president and under discussion in the Supreme Court.

“The government already has the proposal and is what it did in the decree. In the official position of the government, the decree is regular and the government asked the Supreme Court to manifest itself. So, there is no alternative proposal,” said the minister.
