After the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) request the conviction of the defendants of the “core 1” of the coup plot, including former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann, said that it is the “fear” that motivates a supposed conspiracy to articulate with the United States measures against Brazil.
For Gleisi, the final allegations presented by Attorney General Paulo Gonet leave no doubt about the former Mandanician’s performance in planning a coup in the context of the 2022 elections.
“It is the fear of condemnation for his crimes that explains the conspiracy against Brazil he commands today, articulating sanctions from the US government to coerce the STF, at the expense of the economy and jobs in our country,” wrote the Minister at X on Tuesday (15).
On Monday night, the PGR referred to the Supreme Court (STF) the request for conviction of Bolsonaro and seven other defendants in the action.
“The criminal action in the Supreme Court is moving towards the trial, in a firm demonstration that Brazil repudiates blows against the democratic regime, which it was costing so much. And it also repudiates blackmail and threats against the sovereignty of the country and our institutions, where they come from any form or pretext,” added Gleisi.
