The Spanish Government’s Ministry of Social Rights has requested the Public Prosecution Service to investigate whether the birthday party of Lamine Yamal, Barcelona striker and Spanish national team, has violated the law that vetoes shows that can defame people with disabilities or disabilities.
The government agency suspects that the 18th birthday party may have defamed the image of artists with dwarfism, who were at the event held over the weekend. In practice, the ministry wants to ascertain whether there was any episode of humiliation to the artists, after denunciation of the Association of People with AcondraPlasia (ADEE).
In a statement, the entity promised to trigger the court against the Barcelona player to “protect the dignity of people with disabilities.” For ADEE, hire artists with dwarfism as entertainment violates “not only current legislation, but also the fundamental ethical values of a society that is intended to be egalitarian and respectful.”

Yamal won the sports news over the weekend by organizing a big birthday party to celebrate his 18th birthday, when he was able to renew his contract with Barcelona by 2031 – a 30 million annual euros salary and a termination fine of 1 billion euros.
However, the new contract and the party were eventually overshadowed by an image in which two artists with dwarfism comes out of the party, which generated suspicions about a possible spectacle in which people with disabilities are treated as entertainment.
Yamal has not yet publicly spoken on the subject. The player and his colleagues from Barcelona returned to training to start the preseason at the end of the vacation.
