It today accused the Israeli prime minister of “refusing” to conclude an agreement on the ceasefire of fire.
“Netanyahu has a talent to lead every cycle of negotiations to failure, one after another and refusing to conclude an agreement,” the Palestinian organization said in its statement.
An official in the negotiations told the French Agency that mediators are trying to bridge the gap between Israeli and Hamas delegations after a week of indirect talks in Qatar.
“Mediators are actively trying to explore innovative mechanisms to help bridge the remaining gaps and maintain the dynamics of the negotiations,” said the source, who asked not to be named.
The ongoing discussions in Doha mainly concern “the proposed plans for the rearrangement of the Israeli forces within Gaza,” he added.
On Saturday, two Palestinian sources said that talks were difficult because Israel suggested that their forces remain in the enclave after 21 months of war.
The Head of the Egyptian Intelligence Service Hassan Mahmoud Rasad is in Doha and participates in the discussions. He met with Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al -Thani, with whom he discussed “means of coordinating mediators’ efforts” to boost the negotiating process.
