The mayor of Sorocaba, (Republicans), will speak on Tuesday (15) with the governor of São Paulo (Republicans), about the creation of a commission in to articulate independent performance of the tariff of the American.
The theme has already been dealt with in a meeting on Monday (14) with the mayor of Campinas, Dário Saadi (Republicans).
Manga says the idea is to do one to try, which, he says, “will bring a very large loss in particular in the medium term on the issue of exports, a dollar overvaluation and automatically devaluation of the real.”
The mayor, who says he does not agree with the tariff, evaluates that the taxation occurred “not for a commercial problem between the two countries, but for ideological reasons”, and that his intention is to “do a parallel work to Itamaraty”, with the help of Congress.
Manga says he talked about the initiative with the mayor (Republicans-PB), who would have supported the proposal. “He agreed and said: ‘Manga, creates the commission in the National Front of Mayors, count on Congress so that we can articulate the political issue with the US government to soften it.’ This was the conversation,” he says.
The mayor states that Itamaraty was “tensioning” discussions about the surcharge, but adds that the spirits have calmed down in recent days.
“Our fans, I’m very sincere, our fans is that Itamaraty fulfills its role and solves this problem,” he says. “Now, if this tension continues, the idea is that we can articulate with this commission, respecting the prerogative of each one, but showing how harmful it is, that we have to overcome these ideological fights for Brazil to grow and we continue to produce.”
“Everyone will get lost in this, but we are the weakest part,” he says. “The idea is to use the structure we have in the mayor’s national front and create a special commission to specifically address this issue, so that we can collect national data, use the National Congress to also survey the federal government and the impact on the state of Sao Paulo,” he continues.
He also states that he will ask to show the impacts caused on his states and start a political articulation to minimize this.
