In addition to aromas inspired by Vladimir Putin, there are candles with messages of support for the Russian Empire and the soldiers.
A new line of scented candles is successful in Russia, with patriotic symbolism to the mixture.
With a price of about 6 euros, the candles are in two versions: “Putin Black Vanilla aromaAnd “Dark Amber Putin Aroma”, each promises to scent an environment in just 30 minutes. Marketed as handcrafted products made with natural wax and a crackling wood wandering, the candles promise to bring the aroma and the presence of Vladimir Putin to the Russians’ homes.
According to, more than 25,000 units were sold to date. Candles are being seen by some as another sign of the growing personality worship in Russia around its president. In addition to the putin -themed aromas, the same manufacturer also offers candles with the labels “Russia: Symbols of the Russian Empire”, “Let’s support ours!” and “aroma of patriotism”, often adorned with images of soldiers or national symbols.
Marketplaces Wildberries and Ozon also have for sale many other products with Putin symbols: T-shirts, masks, pins, calendars and portraits. The MoneyPlace analysis service reported that the total turnover of Putin -associated products at Wildberries in six months was about 2 million rubles in 2022, with about 5000 units sold.
Although this development may seem bizarre, it is not exempt from international parallels. US President Donald Trump recently released his own luxury fragrance line called “Victory 45-47” in reference to his two terms. Sold to an exorbitant 249 dollars (211 euros), the perfumes were announced on Trump’s Truth Social platform, where he described them as a celebration of “Victory, strength and success“.
