Three hospitalized children after eating hashish gums by mistake at their grandmother's home

A 9 -year -old boy and two girls of 10 were hospitalized this Sunday at Penafiel Hospital after ingested hashish gums by mistake. The skeptic were in the fridge, at the grandmother’s house.

Three children were hospitalized this Sunday, in Paços de Ferreira, for accidentally consuming hashish gums left in the grandmother’s refrigerator.

According to (JN), a fourth child also consumed the product, but did not need hospital treatment.

As the morning reports, the four children will have seen the gums in the fridge and asked if they could eat them. Thinking it is normal gums, the woman authorized children to eat.

But shortly after, three of the children, in their homes, began to feel the effects of the drug. As also describes (cm), upon arrival of the means of help, thevictims were sleepy and indisposed. They were then sent to Padre Américo Hospital in Penafiel.

The girls were discharged on Sunday. The boy only left the hospital this Monday.

According to JN, Drugs would belong to the parents of one of the children. These gums have medicinal use and are legal. However, those would have a illegal theor of THC – The psychoactive substance of cannabis.

The case has already been reported to the Court and the Child and Youth Protection Commission.
