Either accept the grade or repeat the exam: 9th grade mathematics test in 15 schools

“Estractions” in the time of the test compensation leads parents to have to choose, “exceptionally” between the two options. The notes have not yet left due to “technical difficulties.”

The 9th grade final math test may be annulled in 15 schools in the country, with those in charge of education to have to decide between two options: The cancellation of the examination of their students (with repetition of the test) or the acceptance of the final grade of the exam that was held on June 20, but without knowing it.

The contact will have arrived at parents through the National Examination Jury (JNE), he said, who had access to the statement.

The “exceptional” situation is due to “constraints” verified during the test, namely with regard to the compensation time attributed to some students.

The decision is individual and it is up to each in charge of education. If they choose to nullify the test, students will be able to take a new exam in the second phase, on July 18, which will be considered as if it were from the first phase. Alternatively, EE can accept the exam grade held in June, even without yet knowing it.

JNE provides a document that can be signed if they choose the annulment of the exam.

Delays in disseminating results by “technical difficulties”

The process of disseminating the results also suffered delays. The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MECI) confirmed that the results, initially planned for this Tuesday, were postponed to Wednesday, July 17claiming “technical difficulties” as a reason.

The difficulties are related to the new processes of classification of the final tests of basic education and affected a limited number of tests whose correction was not yet completed at the time to send the results to schools.

D. Dinis School Grouping Director José Sousa has no memory of such a delay, two days, and warns of the “anxiety” felt by parents and students. Today ends the registration period for the 10th grade, which will cause a delay in the constitution of the classes, warns the responsible.

According to official MECI data, on June 20, 97,450 math tests were held – 99% of the expected total – while the Portuguese test, held on June 25, had a similar participation, with 97,352 exams completed.

No secondary educationthe grades were launched this Tuesday, and the bad news were mainly reflected in the math tests: 42% of the students could not have positive. Already Portuguese has had the best average of recent years.
