Singapore-Frewasserschwimmer Luca Karl impressively achieved his big goal from a top 10 place at the World Championships in Singapore. The Salzburger was surprisingly fifth in the 10 km competition on Wednesday. The 23-year-old was 34.9 seconds behind the German winner Florian Wellbrock, who prevailed 3.7 seconds in front of the Italian Gregorio Paltrinieri, 14.8 in front of the Australian Kyle Lee and 14.9 in front of the German Oliver Klemet.
