The former president (PL) declared this Thursday (15.Jul.2025) that does not consider leaving Brazil. “I’m 70 years old, full of health problems. How do I go to another country?”.
“I want to see this judgment of mine. How can I be responsible for damaging equity if I was in the US?”questioned. Bolsonaro is a defendant in a criminal case at the Supreme Court (Supreme Court) that investigates the central nucleus in the attempted coup d’état in 2022. If he is convicted of crimes of armed criminal organization, attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, Coup of State, damage qualified by violence and serious threat against public assets and deterioration of overturned heritage, the penalty may exceed 40 years. If you leave Brazil, you can avoid any prison.

PGR calls for conviction
Bolsonaro spoke to Poder360 1 day after the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) for attempted coup.
For Paulo Gonet, Bolsonaro must be convicted of the crimes of leading armed criminal organization, attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, damage qualified by violence and serious threat, against the heritage of the Union, and with considerable damage to the victim, and deterioration of overturned assets. PGR also requested the condemnation of 7 other defendants:
- Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), federal deputy and former director of (Brazilian Intelligence Agency);
- Lodge Garnierformer commander of the Navy;

- Augusto Heleneformer minister of GSI (Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic);
- Mauro Cidformer assistant of Bolsonaro’s orders;
- Paulo Sérgio Nogueiraformer defense minister;
- Walter Souza Braga Netformer minister of the Civil House.
