The pastor, a virtuous ally, responded to criticism of Senator and former Vice President Hamilton Mourão (Republicans-RS) regarding the intervention of US President Donald Trump, in national matters, specifically in the processes involving Bolsonaro. Malafaia attributed to the Minister of , responsibility for the 50% fare applied by Trump to Brazilian products exported to the US.

“Mourão! You are wrong. It is not an exclusively internal issue. Trump has denounced hundreds of illegal and secret censorship orders, threatening US media platforms by Alexandre de Moraes,” Malafaia said on his social networks. In a critique directed to Mourão, currently senator, the pastor argued that Trump’s interference is necessary due to the omission of the Senate, which has the prerogative of impeachment of STF ministers. “The issues that oppress the peoples have no longer a particular matter of a nation. Just see the issue of Venezuela. We are living a juristocracy of the Supreme Court and not a democracy. We have no one to turn to due to an omitted Senate!”

Hamilton Mourão, in turn, expressed his disapproval of Trump’s intervention during a session of the Senate Foreign Relations Commission, which analyzed the tariff imposed by the US President. “Just as I don’t accept that Macron [Emmanuel, presidente da França]that Greta Thunberg [ambientalista sueca]that Leonardo DiCaprio [ator] And others come put their hands on things here in Brazil, I also don’t accept that Trump comes to get the bedelho in a case that is our internal, ”said Mourão.
